OROS: a brass column with a glass vessel at its centre, the name lit in gold inside the glass.

The reliquary that remembers.

OROS keeps an icon’s voice, story and knowledge in a work of art, so future generations can still ask them.

Reliquaries once held what remained of saints, so people could stay close to them. OROS is a reliquary for a living icon, and it answers.

The first holds a library: Daniel Lismore’s life and work, in his own words and his own voice, licensed from him and approved by him. Anyone can ask him about it, in their own language.

The first OROS artist · Founding Creative Partner

Daniel Lismore

Daniel Lismore is a British artist who has lived as art since 2002. Vogue named him England’s most eccentric dresser.

His army of life-size sculptures, Be Yourself; Everyone Else Is Already Taken, has shown at SCAD FASH in Atlanta, Art Basel Miami, Harpa in Reykjavík and the Herbert in Coventry. He designed costumes for English National Opera’s The Mask of Orpheus, and told his story on the TED stage in My Life as a Work of Art.

In OROS, his image, his voice and his story are licensed from him and approved by him. The presence in the glass speaks from his own life.

Founder and inventor

Dominic Faraway

Dominic created, designed and built OROS.

His work is made at the scale of buildings and stages: holographic performance, immersive 360 spaces and live spectacle, including productions with director Zhang Yimou, for MGM Macau, and for Mercedes, Sony and Universal Music. OROS brings that craft down to a single object, made to be lived with.

Icons and estates

OROS invites icons, and the estates of icons, to place their legacy in an OROS of their own, and takes a small number of private commissions.

OROS is dedicated to authenticity. Every image, voice and word is licensed, and approved by the icon or their estate. Nothing they give is used anywhere else.
